TikTok Event at Cannes in Cairns

Celebrating the power of creativity with TikTok

Cannes In Cairns brings together the most innovative and daring minds from Australia and overseas in the fields of advertising, Communications, marketing, tech, and all creative fields in between. The strategy for TikTok to stand out, was to curate ‘Moments of Magic’ that left a memory trace for guests, and embraced TikTok’s love of authentic storytelling. A strong collaboration was formed for TikTok’s events of 2022 and 2023, with celebrity chef Nick Holloway of the famed beachfront restaurant NuNu.

Designed to be nestled among the coconut palms on the beachfront, the 2022 event embraced the barefoot luxury of tropical North Queensland. Working closely with Nick, a bespoke menu was developed featuring local produce taking guests on a journey from the Rainforest to the Reef. Specialised food choices were developed. The exclusive menu was designed to be highly-interactive with guests taking part in fresh coconut cracking as well as creating their own reimagined tropical s’mores over the hibachi grill. 

That experience evoked powerful emotions before the audience was memorably engaged with a Silent Disco on the beach.  

After the success of 2022, to further enhance the event experience in 2023, the theme “A Journey To The Senses” came to life. The mission was to engage visitors in a powerful, purposeful and memorable way. 

Guests travelled in style on the TikTok Party Bus, amplifying trending TikTok tunes. Embracing the luxe beach environment, a dress code of all white was adhered to, taking in a monochromatic landscape along with white coconut margaritas. After being seated and then blindfolded, the hungry throng 

delighted as Nick placed delectable canapes in front of them. Embracing their sense of taste, guests were asked to guess the native ingredients featured in each canape. 

During the blindfolding process, the event space was transformed to embrace TikTok’s bold, colourful brand, to excite the sense of sight. As the newly-created visual explosion disrupted the sense of sight! Nick explained the intricacies of the extraordinary menu, which took those on hand on a journey of their taste buds, while individual music played to match each dish revealing a complete story. 

Fire twirlers created a portal for the senses into another world, before the night was danced away legendary Silent Disco on the beach.
